Finalist entry for Singapore Stories 2023: Kebaya Re-imagined Fashion Design Competition organised by Design Orchard

This reinterpreted Kebaya was constructed with more than 200 unique patterns, made with intricately embroidered Thai silk. Inspired by the vividly hued Crimson Sunbird, the silhouette of the Kebaya is lively with avian characteristics.

More than 120 hours had been dedicated to bringing the look to life.

The kebaya is complemented by our Southeast Asian Bridal inspired Headpiece titled, ‘Ten Thousand Years of Lónging’, which was printed using SLS nylon. This accessory was part of the ‘1kg Challenge’, a Singapore-based design competition which aimed to demonstrate the potentialities, creativity and 3D printing technologies possible within the constraint of 1kg.
