About Baëlf

Baëlf Design was co-founded in 2017 by Fashion Technologist Jamela Law and Computational Designer Lionel Wong.

Through a cross-disciplinary practice, Baëlf demonstrates how technology can be democratised for art, design, culture and craft. We offer novel ways of seeing and making through explorations of computational means and procedural strategies. Ever curious, Baëlf is intrigued by hidden significances and meanings in our environment, both natural and artificial, and sees a mission to bring them to light.

Baëlf Design was the 1st runner up of Singapore Stories ’22, a national fashion design competition organised by the Singapore Fashion Council and Asian Civilisations Museum. We also received the Creativity Award from Hong Kong Trade Development Centre for our eyewear designs in the same year.

Outside of Singapore, Baëlf Design has showcased physical designs internationally in New York, San Francisco, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London and Tokyo. We have also given talks at tertiary institutions such as NUS, UAL, and HK PolyU etc. Notable collaborators include Glenfiddich SEA, Swarovski, Vogue and Miss Universe Singapore. Furthermore, some of our work has been accessioned into the permanent archive of the National Heritage Board, Singapore.
